One of my favourites is Soylent Green, based on the sci-fi author Harry Harrison's book Make Room! Make Room! It's a far-from-appealing look at the Earth in 2022. Charlton Heston and Edward G Robinson are great in the film. It was Robinson's last film before he died. Heston was also very good in that other sci-fi classic The Omega Man, based on the book I Am Legend by Richard Matheson. I prefer the ending in the film to the book's ending.

Clockwork Orange is incredible. It's a better overall movie and my preference for sci fi. |

Precisely. I think I prefer Westworld to Jurassic Park. The initial impact of seeing the dino's is great, but it soon wears off. but I like the strange atmosphere to westworld. it is very 70s looking, but you do actually feel like your there with them - especially when you watch it late at night when your senses are dulled somewhat. |

Of the ones there, I picked Star Wars (even though it's technically
fantasy, not sci-fi). Other favorites of mine include Plan 9 from Outer
Space, Metropolis, and Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

"Westworld" actually was written and directed by Michael Crichton already! So he just copied himself.Westworld (1973)

Anyone seen Westworld with Yul Brynner? Not sure how much you would class it as sci-fi, but I've always liked the film. Essentially Michael Crichton just re-wrote the story and called it Jurassic Park.

I've gone for Clockwork Orange, only because you omitted to include 'Pigs In Space' from the Muppet Show... |

Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson
