Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

I did go last night. Only about 5 people were present Ouch

anyway it wasn't what I expected. Instead of the band it was Gabriel + Orchestra + 2 Backing Singers performing at Hammersmith Apollo. The 3D effect was used well helping to draw the orchestra into the performance. The only songs I knew were Biko, In Your Eyes,Solsbury Hill, Don't Give Up and Digging The Dirt. The rest I was very unfamilair and to be honest found it a bit of a slog at times without the usual rock band to add a bit of 'bite'. Interesting experience though and shows just how versatile the 3D technology is.

I thought the exact opposite Absolutely blew me away from start to finish, and I never really got into Scratch My Back all that much.

The cinema I caught it at had about 30 or 40 people in it if I had to guess, which was a pretty surprising turnout.

Glad you enjoyed it Big smile
It was only just okay for me but to be honest I was very tired and maybe that didn't help.

Please Peter, make another album of new content. Possibly as good as Up?

I saw the live 3D concert on the weekend and it was very good. Signal To Noise, San Jacinto and Red Rain were all spectacular and the orchestral stuff was much, much better than the Scratch My Back recordings.

If the studio renditions are anywhere near as good as the live stuff, this'll be great.

I agree, i am sure he is happy about his life in general thoughWink. But to bore us with another " Scratch My back" scenario, where sadly he did terrible versions in the main.

Thank god he is not doing any Genesis songs to spoil. I reckon he should do some Rod Stewart or maybe even a Las Vegas stint. Cover songs for Celine Dion anyone?

Well, there's bound to be at least 3 awesome renditions. I can pretend the others don't exist.

Censored exactly.
Only partly, Kate Bush did not re-record her songs with an orchestra.

And that's to her credit. Director's Cut was actually pretty good. If this is going to be anything like Scratch My back in style, it's going to be awful.

I've seen him in his last "new blood" tour. As 2nd set he played what's going to be released and it's much better that  the "scratch my back" covers, much more dynamic and powerful. The arranger did a great job and I'm eager to listen to this on a studio version

I'm disappointed and left wondering, has Peter finally run out of inspiration?
