Well i've been a fan of both bands for as long as i've been into rock/prog which was when I was still at school. The Wishbone Ash tribute was fun while it lasted and it got me playing again after 25 years, although i'd never played bass before 2005 actually. When the band packed up, I decided to create the Budgie tribute band cuz I thought it was high time they got some recognition, and of course I love the music! Ricky's have always been my fave sounding bass although there's some great basses out there. It's cool you like both bands as well. I do feel very fortunate to be out playing music I love, I just wished I was doing this full time! like my two comrades who are both pro musicians for a living, that has to be the coolest job right?

Remember, just because they have used a bass doesn't mean they use it all or even most of the time. Righ now Roger Waters and Geddy Lee both have signature Fender basses out.
