I think someone put a gun to his head and he was forced to choose Freewill.

Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

OK.
One chooses Freewill by looking at the collection of Rush cd's and asking oneself, "Hmmmmmmmm............ what song next?" And then I selected the Permanent Waves album and chose Freewill as the song to record. Once I started the tune, it was very clear.
Freewill is one of my favorite Rush songs. I like the solo section and Neil's drumming is the thing in that part that I like the most. The three hi-hat accents in the middle are just perfection against a bass line like that. For me at least. It has a good flow. |
So you weren't forced to choose Freewill?
