Topic: A New Big Prog Album Poll 2009 Posted: August 25 2009 at 19:27 |
^ to each his/her own I say, overall I prefer In the Wake... as well, partially because it was the first of the older KC albums I listened to. Plus, I prefer Discipline to any of them.

In the Wake in 2nd position!?
Do you know a lot of alums?
Surprising... |
Why not? Title track "In The Wake Of Poseidon" is one of my all time favorite tracks from King Crimson and "Cadence And Cascade" is one of the most beautiful songs
|
Well, I guess In the Wake (the song) is not bad, but In the Court, Lark's and Red are far better albums, don't you think. And Cadence and Cascade and I Talk to the Wind are almost exactly the same except I Talk is better...

I have a very busy week so I may hold onto results for a few days....it'll also be nice since we just had results on the other poll.
I'll be around, just much less frequently than usual.

You are quite a fine person, and I am very fond of you. But you are only quite a little fellow, in a wide world, after all.

Alright I'm going to bed so the poll is closed. I head to ProgNation tomorrow so Monday I'll start with results of the "Everybody else."
I'll let you know how DT is compared to how they were in 95.

Sounds great.

I'll take a pass on that Pablo. I've leave that for the young and foolhardy... I'd stick to kidnapping across international borders.

Okay, remember to PM me to tell me how did the kidnapping went(or is it 'go', argghh, tenses!).

Alright, I have entered all the data so far.
32 polls.
#1 ahead of #2 by over 300 pts
#2 ahead of #3 by over 200 pts
#3 ahead of #4 by around 100 pts
So 600 pts separate #1 and #4.....utter dominance.
Things quickly tighten up after that.
Alright, here's my executive decision that will make the countdowns a little more interesting. I have separate the "Big Bands" from "Everyone else." Choosing exactly which bands to separate out was a little rough, but the line I drew will make for a very intersting "Everyone else" poll without any stranges inclusion, and means almost no repeat bands in the top 25 (only 3 with 2 and none near the top)
Here are the ten Big Bands:
Dream Theater
ELP
Genesis
Gentle Giant
Jethro Tull
King Crimson
Pink Floyd
Rush
VdGG
Yes
Only one album not from these bands made the top 20 and only 2 in the top 30. Thus, the separation.

^if you say so....
I just suggested you that because I had experiences in envelope-travelling, new chicks...ermm...I mean, you get to meet some musicians like some of The Decemberists which I know they travel frequently through envelope-travelling air/water-lines

ahhahahha.... don't think I know that Ivan has remembered every single time I gave him a cyber hotfoot and busted his balls for the hell of it just to watch his head explode in a great fountain of blue font... somehow giftwrapping myself in a box and sending myself to him ..errr... might not be the smartest thing I've ever done Kidnapping him ...getting him drunk and taking advantage of him so he might see what a great guy I really am behind this cyber-facade seems like a better way of meeting him hahah

^you can always send yourself by mail-box. It's a bit uncomfortable being in an envelope, but at least it's cheaper and faster, don't you think?
