The Yes Album is pretty much the one whole album that got me into prog: it is quite simply perfect. Although there is the absence of Wakeman, that does not set it back one bit. Tony Kaye sets back as a "rhythm keyboard player" and lets the rest of the band do their thing, and it creates a lush timbre that is very well balanced. The songwriting is also flawless: Yours is no Disgrace, of course, is one of the greatest prog songs of all time, and certainly one of Yes's most memorable moments; Starship Trooper has the best ending in rock and roll history; The Clap shows Howe at his best; Your Move/ I've Seen All Good People is a perfect combination of prog and R&B; Perpetual change is just as genius as the others and A Venture is a nice filler. All round, i really love this album.

The Lamb has been my favorite album for about 30 years.  I love the ambiguity, mystery of trying to figure out the meaning.  To quote PG from Supper's Ready, " as you listen to my voice to serch for hidden doors...".  the Lamb takes me on a journey in my mind and isn't that the essence of Prog?  Don't we all do that with our favorite music?  While I listen I become Rael, I'm trapped and can't move during Fly on a Windshied, I get dizzy during In the Cage and so on.  Listening to the Lamb is a viseral experience.  In the late 70's I used to listen to it once a day all the way through. I know many of you don't like disc 2, I love it.  I sometimes fall alsleep during Silent Sorrow in Empty Boats (afterall it was my first sexual experience!), and am ruding awakened In the Colony of Sipperymen.  gabe's voice in The Lamia is exquisiteTongueCrytears of profound sadness and joy simultaneously.  Don't worry I won't ever write a review of the Lamb as I have no objectivity at all.

don't know if that's a snippet, I know for the other list you took things people wrote from their review of the album and this is not a review.

Moreitsy (Daniel?) puts a lot of work into this. So lets give him more to work with, hope this helps.

Well while everyone is rife with anticipation, why not contribute some snippits for the final list.

Or a last minute entry.

But please snippits.

Anyway, APs have been killer. My free time increased by a lot so it won't be long.

Well I hope you're happy. I've ripped out one of my pubic hairs for each day i've waited. I'm now on nipple hairs. Please, do not make me do it

Yes you can get snippets and I encourage those who made a list to do so.

Also, I'll leave voting open in case any people who forgot but only for a short time.

Sweet!
Start thinking now and get a head start. I honestly can not wait myself.

Mostly thinking ahead, will we be able to include songs that are usually accepted as prog, even if the artist isn't on PA (read: Telegraph Road - Dire Straits)?

Any song by any artist.

Trespass - Genesis

Yikes! Wasn't expecting another great fan from it!

Love that album!! But not Nurse ..

Don't you think Nurse is rather an incosistent album after Trespass, I really feel that even though having Musical Box. I really prefer having Genesis Live before that. (no offense) Just wanna know YOUR answer cause YOU are a Trespass fan so please others do not reply except you're a Trespass fan
I have to agree that Nursery Cryme isn't the most consistent of albums, with Return Of The Giant Hogweed and Seven Stones falling slightly beneath the other tracks, but at least it really does seem to be trying on everything. No stepping down from the challenge or relying on convention (as I find the random keyboard solo on Visions Of Angels, which doesn't *really* fit, is, for instance) and no attempts to . Absolutely bestial opener and closer, some interesting folky experimentation (I have yet to hear another duet like Harlequin), a delightful nod to the band's folk-pop past with For Absent Friends, and the bizarre Harold The Barrel. Return Of The Giant Hogweed and Seven Stones are very much one-mood songs for me; if I'm not in the right mood, I'll usually find them awkward or overdone.A bold and distinctly progressive statement, which was trying to do new things. I think Trespass was a slightly more conservative album, even if it gets me more emotionally and is harder to poke holes in.Yeah, I noticed your list had one of the random bugs we seem to get on this forum: Camel was over ELP Wink

I think Genesis Live is a good deal of not buying Nurse.. Having Musical Box and Return of the Giant Hogweed really great performed, plus The Knife and 2 from Foxtrot.

Yeah I really prefer Camel, it's not that I think they're better or worse but they're way much more consistent. BSS never apeal me. The rest have some AMAZING songs but the album itself doesn't really show me what Camel does.

Depends on the person: it misses Harlequin, Harold The Barrel and The Fountain Of Salmacis, three songs which I love to pieces. I really enjoy For Absent Friends, and even Seven Stones if I'm in the right mood, but really Fountain should simply not be missed, truly amazing song. I should get Genesis Live/Seconds Out when I next try to buy things.

Oh I just remembered, if any one would like to contribute comments about their favorite symphonic album, please do and I'll include it with the results.

This list will be utter hell. OuchTongue

Oh come on, it's me who will be doing all the work. You just need to think a bit.

Anyway, one week left for this one.

Oh I know. Its just today I was trying to decide my favorite KC song and I don't think I can pick one supreme one. That's probably the case for many bands. But i already have an idea of the ones I want to an extent.

I'll definitely be particpating and it should be fun.
