Yeah, the ease of setup is definitely a blessing.  No more wall warts!   Two other things I really like: the ease with which I can reconfigure my effects chain on the fly and the CV processing capabilities of many modules-- very few stompboxes (Moogerfooger, Frostwave, etc.) provide this kind of flexibility and sound-design capability.

You can run just about any audio signal directly into the synth via the I/O module.  I've routed electric guitars, keyboards, SM57s, contact mics, circuit-bent toys, and portable radios through the I/O with no problems whatsoever.

EDIT: Sorry, I don't mean to derail the thread.  Now back to your BOSS pedal discussion...

I'd love to get some synth stuff to add to my guitar signal as it could help me produce even stranger sounds than I can already produce with my limited collection of effects which is comprised of a Boss DD3, a Danelectro Cool Cat, a Russian Electro Harmonix Big Muff Pi, an Ibanez Tubescreamer and finally an Ibanez Weeping Demon wah with an Ebow on the side for extra strangeness.

The RC-20 Loop Station and Metal Zone distortion are my favorite Boss pedals.  My overall favorite stompboxes are the Frostwave Resonator (MS-20 HP/LP filter clone) and Moogerfooger Ring Modulator.  The green Line 6 delay pedal is pretty dope too.

To answer both the original post and you, I've had many pedals in the last 20 years and my all-time favourite has to be the BOSS DD-20 GigaDelay...what an amazing pedal!! Fully feature laden, easy to operate and great sounding Smile

You can get all kind of echo-related sounds with it.

So Bornlivedie (I dig "Signify" too, by the way Wink) if you can afford it go with the DD-20. If not, the DD-3 is a classic and you can't go wrong with it (had it many years ago).

Cheers, J.-

My favourite Boss pedal is my TU2 tuner!

I know what you mean. I usually like the processors mostly for having the basic pedals - chorus, delay, reverb, OD/Gain/Distortion etc ... I like the GT6 for the presets, but I choose them , then go into manual mode to add the other effects I want , ex - Twin Clean, then add on Vox OD on one pedal, Classic dist. on the second one, then delay chorus as needed or wanted; along with the original clean sound. The people I jam with sometimes wish that I would stick with one tone or patch, but I can never settle for any one. I'm the kind of player who wishes he could find an inexpensive tube amp (no modelers please) that gives me Fender cleans & blues, Vox chime & growl, and Marshall gain & classic rock OD. OF course, if like my fave musicians, I actually had the money to do as I please, I probably would need two or three ABY pedals to work all the others I'd purchase - Traynor, Hughes & Kettner, Garnett, Orange, MEsa Boogie ...Confused

LOL, no need to be embarrased, It probably would've taken me longer!

The TU-2 Chromatic Tuner!  LOL

Tune live or in bypass, and power all your other pedals from it with a daisy-chain!

The Loop Station is the only Boss pedal I have, and I love it.  I've been coming up with all sorts of ways to do cool stuff with it, thought some are more musical than others.

Also, I've been startled by the battery life on that thing.  It takes 4 C's, which I'm sure is a lot of milliamp-hours, but still, I've probably used it for more than 30 hours without having to change the batteries.

I must say as far as distortion goes, I got to the point where I preferred the sound of a good amp's natural overdrive without any effects killing the signal

I've not used many Boss pedals but my DD3 delay despite going through batteries rather quickly is an excellent and very tough pedal.
