Mr. Wilson, if it's any consolation, if you ran for Jesus I'd vote for you. And please, take me with you. Rush and Queensryche are the only prog bands that ever come here to Atlanta. I could earn my way responding to negative reviews of PT albums for you, you busy litle bee. I could even fend off the DT fanboys, though I would require a gun, which I'm sure I coul furnish, as I live in the Bible Belt.

I met Steven Wilson in 1999 at the Shank Hall, Milwaukee, they were in the Signify, Coma Divine tour/phase, it's a small place 220 or so, at that time the band was more accessible.

Great interview..... nice to hear SW shed light on his visions

Been a fan since 1992

SW, in case you read this, don't let one review get to you, here's the key fact: FOABP looks well on its way to be one of the top-rated albums on this site. Which it deserves to be.

So I remember Steve saying in an interview once that he wasn't interested in revisiting musical ideas he's already done. I'm guessing if he really wants to do this PT might wanna try making a bad album

good to have you on the list, maestro. you have contributed greatly to the
fact that most of us here have regained their belief in MODERN music

Long time lurker, new time poster here.

Thank you for the fantastic interview, it was really interesting. I'd like to thank Steve and the whole band for the fantastic new record. I got it a week and half ago and been playing it almost non-stop since then. It took a few listens to really grow on me but now I can't get enough of it. The music is fantastic and I really like FOABP's theme, it carries a real meaning and even though it's lyrically more straightforward and down-to-earth than your previous albums, there's so much to pick up. I'm really happy how fresh it sounds as well. It's truly something to be proud of!

Thank you again Steve and rest of Porcupine Tree, your music really means a lot to me and I'm really glad you guys have been around all these years, always innovating and impressing with your wonderful music.

On a random note, I hope the next Porcupine Tree album will incorporate more post-rock/ambient/electronica elements. And even more new instruments. Silly comments aside, I'll be eager to see where you take your music next.

Mr.Wilson, I've been thinking for a while, why don't you write your philosophy down in an essay? I'm sure lots of people identify with your thoughts about music. Would be great for exposure too, I think. Just like painters, writers and other artists wrote manifestos in the 2Oth century about their conception of art, I think it's maybe your turn to pick that tradition up. Besides, it would match the new release perfectly as I feel that some of your thoughts on music are incorporated in FoaBP too (especially the pearl jam verse in the title-song).

anyway, good luck with everything you do! see you in antwerp!
