^^ I would say "Crna dama", it is reissued on CD by PGP RTS.

Also good albums are "Zasto ne volim sneg", "Stranice naseg vremena" and maybe eponymous debut.

If you don't have anything by SMAK, you may want to have a compilation first to listen - I would recommend "The Best of Smak" issued on CD by Slovene label RTV Slovenija.

For everything that you say i agree.

I too feel joy when somebody buys Yu album and really likes it.Rock is West import yes,but Ethno Rock that is ''Made in Yugoslavia''.You can't say that Smak sounds like Deep Purple, even if they play Prog,Hard Rock because they sound diffrent that's an example.

OK, many people are indeed ignorant, but there is nothing we can do. Noone can force anybody to learn something if that person doesn't want it. But at least we can try to educate. I personally find this site very informative and educative and if one person out there grabs an album of Smak, or Leb i sol, or Buldozer I feel satisfied. Yugoslavian music was great, but let's not forget it was still an "import" from the West, for better or for worse. And sure, these titles are rare to find on the international market.

I don't only like American music, far from it. Also, I do not consider myself ignorant or stupid just because I have never heard Smak before. Even if I wanted to, their albums would be impossible to find in the states. I have tried t find albums by Leb I Sol with no luck. That has nothing to do with stupidity, but instead with unavailability.

well let's just say that i call that ignorance which leeds to stupidity.

And yes i have been outside Balkans, that's not the point.I have gave many people our music but no body wants to even look at it.I call that an ignorance.
They don't need to listen to Smak, but when they don't want to heare Time,Partibrejkers than what can i say.The problem is that they only heare there music and that is very poor.

Now, what's wrong with you?

It's not only British and Americans here on this site.
Nobody says that any "other" music is crap.
Have you ever visited any other country out of Balkans?
You behave like a spoiled kid, talking nonsense.

Obviously not many people know about SMAK, is it an offense? Is it the reason you called others "stupid"?

I don't hate you, becouse if i do then i wouldn't listen to Purple,Zeppelin and others.Your stupidity and ignorance will cost you.

Please enough of Bjelo Dugme i have placed them in non-rock group and this forum is for only Smak and those that have helped them and made songs with them.

PS.About Bijelo Dugme,i like they early stuff because it has some prog elements such as 'Sanjao sam nocas da te nemam'.I'm born in Sarajevo, and i was intruduced in early age to Sarajevo commercial pop-rock bands, but later i discovered a more underground talented scene.

Welcome!  I know some of your reviews, bravo

I actually live in Sarajevo and experienced all that "dugmemanija" thing during my teens from the first hand, but I was too young to go to concerts then.

Livnica, I understand your rage against "folk" but sometimes it is not sure what we mean by "folk music". Almost all rock bands used "folk" in one way or another, including Smak

Oh and I did not know you are listening to Radio Teheran?!

No i just pointed that we have diference between words folk and ethno.Folk is simillar to radio Teheran, and ethno is as we say 'izvorna' it's the music that we have made long time ago and sang for many 100 years ,like epic and lyric poetry which has transformed to music by years.

Ethno i listen and that is what Smak and many other ex-Yu groups uses or had used.
