Trilogy for me and Tarkus is a very close second with their first album pulling in at a close third!

Tarkus is their best songs so I'll vote for that. Amazing.

You wanna start looking at the patchiness of Genesis recording before you quote ELP material patchiness.Stinks springs to mind.
I love eary Genesis but the sound destroys them..

Hi All!
I'm new here and delighted to find that I am not the very last ELP fan left on this planet.. Hmm, best album? Tough choice - for me it's got to be Trilogy, although it was close between that and Tarkus. Later albums are more patchy, I think.

Welcome here, RockChick! I love ELP's music from the first album to Works Vol. 1. Good stuff!

I could think of batter band concerts to bomb...

ELP Fans are like Al-quaeda - You could almost imagine an ELP Fanatics Cell preparing to suicide bomb a Triumvirat Concert in the 70's -but being ELP fans they got captured on the way in because they were openly stabbing their organs........................

for Gdub's benefit I hope. You are getting caught in the crossfire unintentionally Richard. We dont intend you to become collateral damage!

Just aimed at myself! I don't mind the ''banter'' just wish that 'pro ELP' threads could be allowed to develop without people feeling threatened that they may take over the whole forum or something. The question asked in the title is ''What is your favourite ELP album?'' not ''which ELP album(s) would you like to chuck in the rubbish bin''

No, he'd rather take that out on KE9 and me...
Personally I think most ELP fans have a great sense of humor... geez, we must on this board anyway... or we'd be prog terrorists by now!

But I do take ELP pretty seriously.I just happen to like a lot of other prog rock music as well. Why are King Crimson,Yes,Genesis fans allowed to take their music seriously but ELP fans not? What is the problem with this? Passion and loyalty ARE good things believe it or not and ELP fans have this in abundance. The constant sniping at ELP I find strange.Still trying to get to the bottom of it but not really succeeding obviously.Pompous? yes of course! Pretentious? Yes I agree.Even the band admitted it themselves. And it's quite obvious they had a sense of humour.''Seven Virgins and a mule'' indeed! So what is the problem??
Nice one Rich...
