The skit from Monty Python's Flying Circus-"The Communist Quiz Show"-gets me every time, especially when surprisingly Chairman Mao gets questions about 1950s American hit songs right away-

Penelope Wilton? Wow! There are MANY funny moments in both Gavin and Stacey, and Miranda (the latter being one you either love or hate; I just find it to be wonderfully silly. And we all need silly from time to time!) |

If we can include movies, then this scene from All Of Me absolutely cracks me up every time. If you don't know...premise is rich, spoiled woman is dying and has her spiritual guide transfer her spirit into a hot young woman. Only things go wrong and it goes into Steve Martin, her lawyer, by mistake. |

I always had a love for British sitcoms back in the day but tended to go for the middle class ones like Carla Lane's Butterflies. That was not unlike my own family. My Dad was always a bit of a 'square' , my Mum 'ditsy' (she still is) and I was a lazy arsed so and so (still am!!). I also liked anything with Richard Briers in such as The Good Life and Ever Decreasing Circles, again all musing about middle class life. It was a joy to watch Ricky Gervais Afterlife and seeing Penelope Wilton and Peter Egan in the same sitcom again. I had (have) a real crush on Penelope Wilton, such a gorgeous lady

Wow! Never knew that - always assumed it was shot in London but had never really thought about it. You should definitely give it a go Richard, although it’s dated somewhat, especially the very early series. But for a long run it was magnificent….. |

Never watched it despite it's enormous popularity but always fascinated me that Bristol somehow doubled up for Peckham and it was shot just down the road from Ashton Gate.

Hi,
I have never really enjoyed a lot of American TV, specially comedy and the main reason was easy ... that stupid laugh track, never allowed you to make a decision for yourself as to what was funny or not. Mostly it wasn't at all and some sit coms took advantage of it. Redd Fox was known to really jump on the laugh track. Robin Williams in his specials was very special ... you didn't need a laugh track to watch this wild and crazy guy ... much more so than the other one with the name and cardboard jokes. Well, he wasn't playing his mandolin then, for us to laugh more! He could do a mean Tiny Tim!

Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!

Do TV Movies count?
Then it has to be any scene of "Brett Maverick" featuring character Philo Sandeen, the Indian Interpreter, the guy is hilarious!

I want to post a clip of The Office. Ricky Gervais is a genius but I struggle to think of just one clip that highlights this. I think the IT guy was a good one.

Tim Conway's improv on the Carrol Burnett show. This clip is the full, unedited segment that the studio audience saw. The second take (except the very end where they censored the a$$hole blurb) is the one that aired.... |

No, I know how to behave in the restaurant now, I don't tear at the meat with my hands. If I've become a man of the world somehow, that's not necessarily to say I'm a worldly man.
