I still hold some skepticism about Astrology, but I will say this:

I input all the pertinent info for every one of my band members on this site...

...and the results were extremely close to everyone's actual personality... even the parts that contradict the other parts!

Hey, oliverstoned, what are your thoughts on Astrology?
I practice it.
So what does this quote mean to you?"Self-importance is a monster that has three thousand heads"
This quote was for you
Then, I guess I should try to reach that mysterious state of being called "the place of no pity", which destroys self-importance by slowly starving it. That's the path I'll choose to follow.  Thanks for the quote, oliverstoned.

Proof? It's not simple as it's not something you can quantify as it's human psychology. So something "subjective" in a way.

Although there has been a huge scientific, statisitic study made in France (Gauquelin study), to prove that following their occupation, people have this or this sign in the "middle of the sky" of their native theme. For example, astrologers states that most militaries have Mars (war planet) in the middle of the sky.
They did the tests with hundred of themes and the result was 80% true in favor of astrology!
On a statistic/scientific point of view, it widely vaildate the reliability of astrology and excludes hazard.

One of the opponents of astrology concluded by this funny sentence:
"If statistic believes in astrology, i don't believe in statistics anymore"
It shows how narrow minded scientists can be!

I can't speak for others, but one of the reasons I'm a sceptic is that I've never seen anything that proves there is any validity to astrology.  So unless you (or someone else) provides convincing proof, I'm going to remain a sceptic.

Poplularized astrology and newspaper horoscopes are BS, but real astrology as the greeks invented it, is something else. Its an art and a science, but few astrologers are good enough to get something of it. The aim of astrology is mainly to know itself (karmic astrology is very good for that).
Anyway, i've nothing to prove to sceptics.

It's all a load of wank, of course, but I'm a Leo through and through.

I agree with you on that.  My sister and I both have the same star
sign, yet we're very different people.  And when you think about
it, how can balls of flaming gas billions of miles away have an effect
on people?

It's because you have to do the full birth theme with all the planets in signs and aspects. That would be too simple if there were only 12 psychological types of persons.
If you add symply the ascendant sign (which is somehow more important than the solar sign), it gives a 144 (12 X 12) combination, which is already more accurate.

>>>

And when you combine the infinite possibilities of signs, planets in signs, in houses, etc, it gives you infinite combinations, as much as human kind can be.

I really like this tongue-in-cheek approach of yours . As a typical Aquarius, I only believe in systems I myself developped, but I will put anything I can get my hand on into such a system.

I'm not surprised you're a Krautrock and Gong fan as a Pisces. This sign symbolizes mysticism, spiritualty and krautrocks bands like Popol vuh for example embodies perfectly this mystic dimension.

Anyway, I asked Tony R to delete the ARSEtrology poll.

It didn't make much sense anyway.

However, I still think astrology is a bunch of BS.

I'm a Gemini, who gets nauseated by people whoi ask me what star sign I am... like it had a hand in predestinating me to become the grumpy old git I am!
