I'm about half way through this documentary. Had to stop to get dinner under way.
So far it's a walk down memory lane for various drummers of various known and lesser known bands on their inspirations to become drummers. A few very notable drummers missing from the conversation so far.
Now playing on Netflix I think.

On the subject of Drumming, Reich’s Drumming that is, I particularly recommend the recording by Colin Currie’s Band. Currie is a superb percussionist and any Currie recording of Reich is well worth hearing. Favourite rock drummer? Guy Evans - who I’ll be seeing on Saturday in Edinburgh with VDGG. Can’t wait.

I'm on a bit of a Reich tip at the moment; Music for 18 musicians, Different Trains & Electric Counterpoint being rotated at the moment.

Music For 18 Musicians was the first minimalism recording I heard and its probably still my favorite. What a magical hypnotic trip that one is.

There is also a significant element of drumming (snare drum) in Carl Nielsen's 5th symphony. Arguably his best.
