I think when "Why do you cry?" was uttered by a once-homicidal robot it lost all the punk credibility that the first one had. By comparison T2 is a Hollywood clip-job. Edited by Atavachron - December 21 2021 at 15:33 |

While the original was an excellent first effort, especially considering the limited budget, the follow up was a masterpiece with Linda Hamilton just rockin' the Sarah Connor role. Terminator II: Judgment Day (1991)

The 1st one, where the concept is fresh. The 2nd adds to the paradoxical aspect of time travel, I like that. All of them entertained me to a variable (always decreasing) degree, but please don't ask for consistency!

No film will ever match or recreate the cruelly raw vision of the first. It was the flick that gave sci-fi to unwashed derelicts everywhere. No small achievement. |

For me the last one is just awful. Its attempts to be politically correct and "woke" (not that there's anything inherently wrong with those things) seemed to take precedent over the story and it really just becomes a rambling mess. A shame considering it featured the return of Linda Hamilton. It is the only one of the series that I have only watched once and I don't have any desire to revisit it any time in the future, unless a terminator comes back and forces me to.

Wasn't it already impossible for what'shisname to have fathered (young oik) what'shisname, in the first one?.... You can't idolise someone you've fought in a war with, and then help make him

There had been created some "The Terminator" polls, but this hexology is/can be the first. |

The first two movies are classics. The rest of the films is pretty dispensable.

Oh, I thought I already participated in this one, but it must have been in my dreams... The first two are still the best in my eyes, but I personally prefer T2 (despite the fallacy pointed out by Laz above, which I don't care about when we take them individually...).

The first one.
In terms of our understanding of the way time works, the end of T2 rendered the first one impossible to have happened. Just saying.

Only seen the first two. Until recently I would have voted for T2, but having watched them both again it's the first. Would like to see the latest.....

The first two were great but everything after was unnecessary crap.

Defiantly between 1 & 2. I went with the first one because it blew my mind the first time I saw it.
