Out of your choices Drew,I would say In Flames.But I like Katatonia and Meshuggah better.

where are bands like candlemass, bathory, memento mori,dissection,
memory garden, at the gates, entombed, veni domine, heavy load and so
so many others??? if i had to choose the best swedish band, this would
be candlemass....great doom metal band.

Wanted to choose the more popular- and "i can find any of these cd's in most record store" bands.

Hmmmm even though i voted for In Flames (of course, their early stuff), i would definitely include Dissection.

Well, Meshuggah is oficially prog metal now, and isn't katatonia Welsh (Not sure)?

Well, Meshuggah is oficially prog metal now, and isn't katatonia Welsh (Not sure)? |
I think the Welsh band is Catatonia (with a C), and they're not metal, whereas Katatonia are.

Swedish metal rules! But why only three bands? Ok. I`ve chosen Dark Tranquillity, they `re far more better than In Flames (sucks ), I like Soilwork`s "Natural Born Chaos" and "Figure no.5" but their latest album is crap.

Absolutely. So far it's my greatest disappointment of the year (in terms of music).
