For the last 14 months or so I have been arranging old songs, composing new ones and writing lyrics for a project that has finally been finalized. The result is Rain Before the Morning, the debut online album of my solo project Moons of Jupiter. Moving between realms of ambient, keyboard rock and even contemporary classical at times, the album feels quite eclectic as a whole. Lyrics draw from deep, blurred insights of dreams, visions and other psychodynamic processes.

Tracklist:

1. Aura (4.33)
2. Stars (9.30)
    I. Rain Before the Morning
    II. Heartfall
3. Suppress the Ego (4.43)
4. Satellites (8.21)
5. The Path (2.27)
6. St Petersburg (3.29)
7. Frost (0.58)
8. Message In the Mind (5.57)
9. Unconscious Prayers (6.08)

Stream the album or download it for free at http://moonsofjupiter.bandcamp.com/
And if you like it, give me a like on facebook: http://www.facebook.com/rainbeforethemorning (who knows, I might start writing my posts in English if I get a foreign liker Big smile)

Any comments are most welcome. I'm not quite sure if my music is PROG enough to be included in PA, nor if this counts as an "official release". It certainly is obscure enough though Tongue Well, genres are only in your head (or in mine) anyway, right?

So, I thought I might shed a little light on what's going on with the project, in case anyone is interested. I'm currently working on an instrumental EP that hopefully shall be released on the autumn. It will include three cover songs from the RBtM sessions (by a single artist) and a new track. What lies beyond that, I don't know yet. I have a bunch of really good ideas, epic even I might say, but we'll see how they want to turn out. I'm yet lacking collaborators for the next full album so that's a problem that needs to be solved before things can really begin. I would love to have some more live activity around that one (we did one small duo/trio gig in Lappeenranta, Finland with my friend's solo project called Parus Aero, I can post a youtube link if anyone is interested.) The sound from the monitors was a bit unbalanced at times (OK, a lot) and my voice sounded a bit funny on the first track but other than that we had a really good time.
