Hi,
Is there a way that we can maintain/update a more recent list of current concerts of some of these bands?
A bunch of us just missed UK here in Portland ... and by the time we saw it and said something ... we had already missed it.
Greg Lake will be here in a bit ... and others ... but maybe we could find a way to have these things listed.
I just had a friend of mine buy tickets for a Wall show in Canada, because of my review ... it will be my fault if he doesn't like it, but I know his wife will love it!

Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!

THere are no dumb questions... only dumb answers. Like this one, that didn't answer anything.

^ we currently have this Mosh (though I admit it's far from being as helpful as a regularly updated and easy to navigate list of 'upcoming attractions'):
http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_topics.asp?FID=10 It also relies on PA members/promoters and fans posting the info with sufficient notice to alert those that may be interested. Short of us linking to an external site dedicated to publicising Prog artists touring schedules and events, there ain't any quick fix for this. |

The OP of my thread regarding "obscure prog facts" thread and the search feature is regarded as dumb. QED?

We have tried to do this in the past (notably by Jared who maintained two rolling calendars of Prog Festivals www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=45982 and www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=45919), but it is a fulltime job that no one here has the time to do.

Within the limited Holland & Belgium domain, the dutch site DPRP has a very useful concert guide.
I have no idea how it is maintained. I understand that it can be a lot of work to maintain a multinational concert guide but it would be really great for PA to have some specific concert guide tab, outside of the forum. Maybe the bands / promoters could be allowed to do the input themselves?

For concerts, I do a regular check on the Events section of last.fm; it's the best tool I've found so far.
I also have an application on my telephone that announces me when tickets are put on sale for the bands or concert halls that I've asked to be informed about. |
