This sounds great! - I believe the title track was actually finished back in May this year, and clocks in at 23 minutes. Haven't heard it in full yet though.

Hi yam yam, thanks for having a listen - yes you are correct, this track has been fully written & is about 24 mins - as it happens I just started laying down the other track on this album (The Vale of Aeternum) last night - that's only 19 minutes though - eheh - Hoping to get these done before 21st Dec - clearly...

And Martin has posted on facebook today that the album is getting very close to being delivered. He has uploaded this 2-minute sampler of it on to that site: https://www.facebook.com/yaktunes/videos/10153307268664919/. Sorry I can't embed it here...maybe it will be on YouTube soon, and then I can embed it!
Sounds damn fine in any case...looking forward to this release very much now! Edit: In fact 1000 copies of the album are due in around 5 days time according to an earlier facebook post, and a page is to be set up from where donations to Tower Hill Stables Animal Sanctuary (owned and run by Martin and his partner Fiona Oakes) can be made in exchange for a copy of the album.

Martin, this is fantastic news! Wonderful, I am happy and eager for your new album release now. Your instrumentals have complex instrumentation with so many layers yet sounding so effortless easy lisrtening, mesmerizing with most beautiful feel good releasing coming downs.
I love your music! |

LOL Sonia! The title track of that particular album is probably my favourite instrumental of all time. Maybe I should pose on here with my official YAK mug!...At the time of purchase in August 2011 (not long after I joined this site) it was only the second one in existence: https://www.facebook.com/yaktunes/posts/125255864236917. It still works too - no leaks whatsoever so far! Would probably fetch three figures if I auctioned it on eBay...but I'm actually thinking of ordering the left-handed version of it now as well - just to make up a full set.

That's good to hear.......I also have enjoyed the Yak album and often mention it on the forum when keyboard based albums come up.

A secret stash of six more of the fine YAK mugs that I mentioned above has been discovered, and apparently they are ambidextrous, so you don't need to specify the left-handed version if you are that way designed by your maker.
Full details on facebook. They are just 8 GBP each plus postage, and all proceeds go towards helping to look after the 400 or so residents of the marvellous Tower Hill Stables animal sanctuary which Martin runs with his partner Fiona. All money received from YAK CD sales goes towards helping the animals too, so if you haven't got the new album yet...

"Quest for the Stones" is a little vague as an album title. They shoulda called it "Quest for Keith Richards' Drug Stash".
I'm sure we'd all travel through mystical lands and do battle with terrifying foes with that objective in mind.

Whilst this topic is still fresh here for a few days, I thought I'd post this little-viewed (sadly it's only had 272 views in more than 2 years) original Tower Hill Stables Animal Sanctuary video, set to the wonderful 'Journey Of The Yak' track. It will give anyone who purchases some YAK music an insight into the tremendous work that goes on at the sanctuary - and that by purchasing this music they themselves will be supporting.
