The book of Taliesyn and Zep 3

Any place for their interpretation of River Deep, Mountain High (late 60s) or Robert Plant singing like that chick from Nightwish on Zep 3.   Come on, u know u want to do it.

My point is - From a postmodern perspective - if we accept a band like Nightwish wouldn't we accept an established historical icon of rock who experimented with different genres and whose influence is unquestioned, especially on prog metal.

Is there two forms of progressive rock. Modern and postmodern?? One primarily followed and stayed closer to their symphonic/classical roots and the other followed a different stream through the metal/heavy metal elements and have remained close to their roots. Oh and then there's KC

Is it art rock and experimental rock?

What a offence for LZ to be compared to nightwish LZ is much more of a hard rock icon, but they were so great, they influenced all genres They shouldn't be here simply because they weren't prog. What genre are you gonna put them under? ...And who told you we accepted Nightwish? I think they dont quite belong here either I wonder which song flom LZ3 was it that reminded you of Nightwish?

So we agree. I don't think either belong but if you are going to put nightwish on the archive then Lz deserve to be here on their influential merit. There just doesn't appear to be much logic behind the acceptance of certain bands such as Nightwish ( and they are not the only ones) on an archive such as this when the foundation of this site was built upon the musical aesthetics and vision of bands (in their prime) such as Yes, KC, VGG, PF and Genesis.

So I really don't want that any more than you, but IF NIghtwish is included, wouldn't you then have to accept an influential band like LZ? And the comparison with Robert Plant and the Nightwish singer. A bad joke really. I was listening to LZ2 and 3 the day I wrote that and I thought, well maybe they are putting Nightwish on because she sings in operatic style and then I thought, but RP can scream about as high as that. Thats really the only connection.
