Topic: Battle of the Prog Bands R2D13: Riverside vs. PoS Posted: August 27 2010 at 17:29 |
Welcome to Round 2 Division 13 of Battle of the Prog Bands! This time, our two contenders are Riverside and Pain of Salvation. Vote for your favorite, and the band with the most votes will move onto Round 3. Please do not vote unless you have listened to at least one album by both bands.
Here is the tournament thus far:
The Metal matches have come back again. Time for me to take a short break from voting.

Some time ago I would have said PoS, but I'm much more into Riverside right now than I used to. Plus, I didn't like PoS last release very much.

Riverside - loved Out of Myself and Second Life Syndrome, and saw them live a few years ago at a small gig in London, and met the band in the bar afterwards, so that will do for me.

That's really hard...
nonetheless, I think I have to give it to PoS. They're simply too good.

See, Pain of Salvation is one of those bands that I keep trying to get into and repeatedly don't have any luck, "Be" being the only one that I really like despite owning five of their CD's. Riverside on the other hand is a band that I really like.
My vote goes to the guys from Poland.

PoS is such an unfortunate abreviation.
Voted Riverside.

Definitely Riverside... probably the only traditional prog-metal band I really enjoy.

PoS without a doubt. Riverside does nothing for me.

Exactly this, Riverside continues to grow and evolve whereas I like PoS less and less with each release.
