I'm about to buy a Boss BR-1600CD 16 track. I was wondering if anyone here might already own one, & if so, what do you think of it?

I have a Boss BR864. I recorded a ten song CD (just for fun, copies given to friends/family).
I ran the guitar directly into the recorder and used the built-in effects for different sounds on each track.
This unit does not have a CD burner so I had to use the USB port and then burn using my computer.
This unit requires you to bounce down to two tracks before transferring to the computer and that was my problem. I'm a musician, not an engineer and this process was difficult for me.
If the unit you are considering has 8 recordable tracks then you don't have to deal with bouncing and you're way ahead of the game.
The Boss built-in effects has somewhere between 90 and 100 sounds based on different guitar/amp combinations so your choices are limitless using just a guitar and a cable.
