There are tons and tons of patches on guitar forum boards people are willing to share (I don't personally own an X3 Live unfortunately).
It just all depends on a lot of factors, such as your guitar etc.
What I can find for you, is a thread on Sevenstring.org forums, a POD Tweaking Tips Thread, if you want.
Also, go to either the SMN forums/Sevenstring.org, get a patch from Bulb from the band Periphery, use that are your base patch and tweak it from there, and it's instant death metal tone.

As for The Faceless, a good starting point if you want to make you own preset, is to get the Triple Rectifier amp sim  (which is called 2001 Diamond Plate) and tweak it until you like it.
This amp sim can get you a good, tight, saturated tone that can also nail the Bettween the Buried and Me rhythm tone if that captures your interest too.
If you find the 2001 Diamond Plate to be too lacking in mids (possibly because of mid scooped pickups etc), the 2002 Bomber X-TC, 2002 Criminal and 1993 Solo 100 Head may be up your alley.
The 5150 sim in particular, is based on an amp that is widely used in death metal anyway (funnily enough, considering the 5150 was designed for Eddie Van Halen, it also happened to be a favorite among thrash and death metal guitarists too, hehe).

Then it's a just a matter of searching through the list with the terrible search function.
It really is a lot easier to just go to a metal guitar forum, like metalguitarist.org or sevenstring.org, find out which regular members play X3 Lives and then get patches from them.
At least then, instead of just downloading a whole bunch of patches that could be hit or miss, just even the ones that aren't bad are just okay, you can actually speak personally the person with the patch and they could tell you whether it's in your ballpark or not.
At the SMN forums (don't go to much anymore, but it's useful now and then) and Sevenstring.org Bulb actually tends to discuss his patches in threads so people can ask questions about them, and he regularly posts clips of his Axe FX patches (although when he was using his X3 Live, he posted tons and tons of X3 Live and XT Live clips) to give people a good idea of what they'll sound like.
The people that seem to be getting the best patches that can be tweaked to suit their rig and get the best tones from their X3 Live, in my experience anyway, are the people that sign up to metal forums and ask the right questions and ask the right people.
I'm not saying you can't get a good patch from the Line 6 site, because you probably can, but you learn a lot more about tweaking and on average, get a better patch to suit from actually talking to someone about their patch/es.

http://www.sevenstring.org/forum/recording-studio/66324-the-pod-recording-tips-tricks-and-eq-ing-thread.html

This thread from Sevenstring.org has heaps of amazing tips to getting your POD to produce kick ass metal tones.

Here's another useful one:

http://www.sevenstring.org/forum/gear-and-equipment/42290-tweaking-tips-for-modelers.html

Some of the best tones from Line 6 X3/XT/Toneports I've ever heard for modern metal seem to be coming from Sevenstring.org. In general, guys from SS.org are obviously into 7 string guitars, death metal and thrash metal etc and consequently are not concerned about vintage or anything, they're looking to get the most up to date, advanced stuff that are the best tools for them.
If you're into metal in general, that place is an awesome forum, and you don't have to play 7 strings to be accepted there, 6, 7, 8, 9 strings and beyond, everyone is welcome.
90 per cent of the people there play metal, so there is a wealth of information on getting great metal tone, whether it be about amp modelers, amps, guitars, pickups, electronics etc.

^ you can sort the results by rating:

then concentrate on the tones with many downloads.
