Alright, this guy/ dispatcher throws his entire law enforcement career down the toilet when he makes this disturbingly funny joke in a serious emergency. I lose what little faith I did have in the police after hearing this clip. Beware.

I couldn't laugh about the joke he made. Bad policeman with no sense of humour normally would make me smile, this is the reason I don't like cops. well this and the way they stroke their weaponry.

I'm always almost unlucky _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Id5ZcnjXSZaSMFMC Id5LM2q2jfqz3YxT

Sorry. I had no intention of offending people.

Not funny, tragic.

I'm sorry you have a poor view of Law Enforcement. Try to remember that not all cops are bad. Actually, on the whole, the cops reflect the same good/bad percentages as normal everyday society. Less than 2% of most societies are criminals. Same with cops. They just get all the press.

I think that you have to have a sense of humour in this day and age,the guy is just saying what most people think-but he is not paid to make wisecracks. But he is a human being with human frailties and emotions.I hope he did not get into too much trouble, but knowing today's Po-Faced PC (no pun) World,he probably got fired!

"I lose what little faith I did have in the police " is bullsh*t and reflects really bad on you CP.

Somebody has to do it.
Want to try yourself?

No thanks, I'll leave that to you; because by the tone of your voice, you sound like you might be a cop (aka pig) and I really am not a donut person to begin with; if you catch my drift. You must be a copper because you are getting awful defensive to be just a common person who is slighted by tax-funded-law-enforcement every day like the rest of us. Maybe if you had a cop-father-turned-criminal you would know what the hell you were talking about. Good day.

I still smell bacon.

This is not a police officer; it is a 911 dispatcher, and a p!ss-poor one at that. Dispatchers get a very bad rap due to the inefficiencies of the 911 system in some communities, but I know from first hand (well, second-hand; my brother used to do it) that it is one of the most stressful jobs that exists. My brother said it was extremely rare for ANYONE to last more than a year at this job. He lasted a few years and was a supervisor, but eventually broke down like just about everyone else. I mean, suicidal depression, nervous breakdown, the whole bit. It is VERY common in this profession.

That being said, this guy's comments are uncalled for, and I hope he was fired straight away (and I'm sure he was).

Good post, Ben. My current position is Background Investigations and hiring dispatchers is my hardest job. It's a very tough, under-paid position and KEEPING them is nearly impossible. It really takes a special type of individual to handle the pressures.
