(I've always liked that word. I like the name Sebastian, too...)

I find that I associate certain countries with certain genres of rawk \m/, including our fiddly sub-sub-genres here. So:

Germany = psyche
USA = aor
Sweden = death metal!!!!

and finally:

France (and Belgium) = everything avant-garde rock-ish

Play along, or tell me why I'm wrong, or highlight exceptions from those countries, or whatever you like. I know someone's going to come in and say, "Hey, it's all just music, so listen to whatever you like and ROCK ON!". That person can have a cookie.

Also, does anyone regard any other countries as being specialists in a field of rock? Try as I might, I can't think of anything for big countries like Australia, nor Brazil.

Germany has a lot of avant-garde too, but generally I agree. Great Britain could be named for Canterbury; the name alone locates it. As a style one could describe it as "jazz-rock with lots of silly humour, seasoned with a bit of space and avant-garde".

BaldJean and I; I am the one in blue.
