First off...

Ocarina of Time is simply the greatest video game in the history of gaming.
Therefore, I chose not to put that one on.

So, I just borrowed Twilight princess from my homeslice, just to keep my loyalty to the game, and I'm quite liking it, 3rd best IMO, a step below The windwaker.

A link in the past is a pre gaming revolution classic, four sword legend was kind of a salute to it, but was pretty much the joke of the gaming world that year. Majoras mask was very disapointing to me, no Hyrule, no Zelda, and a scary looking moon man. The Windwaker is my second favirote, hated ny many fans, because of the graphics though, it's story line is almost as epic as ocarina.

Of course I havent finished twilight princess, but it kind of pissed me off when I had to fly all over hyrule to get the fused shadows, and then get it thrown away the very second you have them all.

Thoughts?

First off, I AGREE 100% WITH YOUR OPINION ABOUT OCARINA.

Now, I have played only two other Zeldas...Cry

A Link TO the Past is magnificent. As was The Windwaker.

Has there ever been a bad Zelda? (yes, there was a Zelda CD-I, LOL)

Sadly I think that Twilight Princess was a big let-down. The game was too easy and very straightforward with only a handful of side-quests.  The story was quite interesting though, and it was good to see a darker and more emotional Link.

The only Zelda game that I deeply enjoyed after playing Ocarina of Time was Windwaker. That game was epic in the best sense of the word! The whole feel of the game was perfect and its only bested by Ocarina of Time.

Majora's Mask.  In some ways I preferred it to OoT, it had more innovative and complex dungeons, a more interesting world, and I loved the 72 hour cycle.  I never finished either of the gamecube Zeldas; Wind Waker got so boring towards the end, just sailing around collecting stuff, very linear and dull; and I just never got around to beating Twilight Princess, it was good but I'm not much a gamer these days...  Link to the Past was good, I hardly remember it though.  And the first Zelda game for NES was cool, a bit before my time but I've played it, never played the second which is apparently really difficult and a let-down from the first.

Bluesaga, I'm with you, I'm not a gamer at all anymore, Zelda, and a couple games of Halo with my friends is the extent nowadays.

I like Twilight princess'  Graphics ALOT, but your right Cham, it's easy. I havent died yet, the boss fights are too easy, and the dungeons arent... scary like how they are in ocarina.

You guys remeber how horrifying the last three temples in ocarina are, especially the water temple?

Actually fellas, the Ice mansion on twilight is quite challenging, better than the other dungeons... so far.

Majora is PWN.  Windwaker is great, but the sailing gets tedious and the graphics make me cry.

Twilight Princess felt too....forced.  There were several items, like that magic wand that controlled statues and that gear thing that you rode on, that got used in one dungeon and that were then not useful EVER in the rest of the game.  And at the end of the game, there were three straight dungeons with almost nothing in the overworld in between.  Was there a single sidequest?  I don't think there was.

Actually, now that I think about it, the sailing in Windwaker didn't really bother me.  I always mute the music from games and blast my own, so I actually found the sailing to be somewhat relaxing.

Don't get me wrong, Twilight Princess was great, but it fell far flat of the ludicrously high standard set by the previous three 3D Zelda games.  You'd think they'd be able to put out something better considering how much f*cking time they spent on it.

Yeah unlike all the other games, you dont really have time to take in anything in the twilight princess, you always have to rush to the next temple, or find someone in a remote place. In pretty much all the other games, you get to scope out all the towns, check out the stores, and usually get a good sidequest.Confused

The other games all had a lot of room to BREATHE, some relaxation between the dark, harsh, and draining temples.  In Twilight Princess, you were either in a temple or the dark, depressing twilight hunting down those damn bugs.

Prett mch, but thats how i felt in Majora, to a lesser extent though. With the constant pressure of a very angry moon right above you, giving you only 72 hours, and junk

Yeah, but there were sidequests out the wazoo in Majora's.  I could spend consecutive 72 hour periods in that game just doing sidequests if I didn't feel like diving into the next temple, and there were always interesting adventures between the temples.  Twilight always lacked the former and often lacked the latter as well.

True, but there was something about Majora hat just seemed very uncool to me, maybe it was the four different knd of instruments in which you had to play the same thing on, or the fact that Link never really hits puberty. I like the darkness that Majora and Twilight keep from ocarina. Lets be serious though, the soundtrack to ocarina was terrifying!

The soundtrack of Ocarina was pretty scary, and it got to be pretty damn terrifying inside some of the adult-Link temples.  I still remember the Forest Temple music (I haven't played the game un-muted in 3 or 4 years), and it still gives me the creeps.

Like I said in an earlier post The most terrifying temple was the water temple.

Next Zelda game soundtrack should have the most terrifying music of all time on it.

I'm feelin' Zelda: RIO Edition with Samla and Stormy Six in the happy parts and Univers Zero and Art Zoyd in the temples.

Twilight Princess is better than Ocarina. Ocarina was great when it came out, and still is, but the action is much better in Twilight. The Ocarina story was classic, like nothing ever before it, but Twilight just improved upon it in every way. Picture Twilight coming out in '98, people would have been like

And then Ocarina would hit in 2006 and we'd never touch Twilight again.

I've played Majora through two-and-a-half times and Ocarina through about a half-dozen times, but I wasn't even able to finish Twilight a second time.
