   Hey fellow drummers!!!!

I have a question to all of you: What drums do you have??

I have a Century kit and paid around $700 for it. I make this question because almost every drummer I know has got really good drums, I mean Tama, Pearl and Ludwig, and it makes me feel kind of bad because people that has been playing drums for 6 months, already has a Tama or Pearl kit, and I have been playing drums for more than 3 years( ) but I can´t buy one of those kits because they are just SO expensive.

Am I the only one who is in this situation??

Just curious.

	My first (and only) drumset was a well-used 60s Ludwig 5-piece, purchased for $200 in the early 90s. Not very shiny or "professional" looking, but I'm perfectly happy with their sound-- it's all about good heads, proper tuning, and, when applicable, good mics/mic placement. I've been playing for 15+ years, and I've never felt like I needed or deserved a new drumset just because I've been playing that long. A gentle, friendly reminder about perspective: people who play with you or come to hear you at a gig are probably more interested in how you're playing, not what you're playing. If you're satisfied with the sound (and look) of your drums, don't worry about what other drummers are using; just keep on drumming and having a good time making music. Remember that possession of "pro gear" doth not a pro player make... Besides, you won't even have to think about it once you score that big Tama Starclassic endorsement!

	Ok so I went to this Bill Bruford drum clinic, Right? [....skipped details...] So the drum set he used that night went on sale a few weeks later at the local music store. My birthday was in a month. It was my birthday present. Here's the lowdown: 6 piece Tama Bubinga Starclassic 10, 12, 14, 16 inch toms, a bigass bass drum, beautiful brand-new Bruford signature snare, and sexy 2-in-1 stands (cymbal + tom). It's black with a single gold stripe down the center of each tom. I also have my personal cymbals, but they're crap compared to the kit. 21 or 22 inch (dunno) Sabian AA ride, 17" Sabian Vault crash, Zildian (basic) 16" crash, 16" Sabian AAX China, Sabian B8 8" splash, Sabian AA 10" splash, and Sabian AA Hats.
