One of the most rocking shows I've ever been to, this British 3 piece definitely knows how to put on a spectacle. Opening with one of their most well known songs (preluded by a JFK speech about secret societies) Knights of Cydonia, they continued with their more high energy songs, and the audience followed with the same energy throughout. Matt Bellamy showed off his guitar skills, soloing on several of the songs that didn't normally have solos (or at least ones as complicated as the ones he did live). His guitars also have a few cool little toys on them, such as the Kaoss pad which with he could make all sorts of new and unknown noises that was fixed right into his guitar (he even gave the audience a closeup of it into a camera when he was fooling around with it between songs) As time went on, they shifted to more piano based numbers, yet still keeping the energy going all the way until the encore. They also between several songs had "jams" where they'd vamp on a riff that isn't currently in an actual song, and some of it was pretty heavy (the preppier crowd was somewhat taken aback by this)...perhaps this is new material being worked? I don't know. What I do know is that it was the best night I've had in a while
