Hello fellow progheads.
Progrock bands are more albums bands, nonetheless many known progrock bands/artists have delivered singles, even some very succesfull. I have compiled a very mixed list with progrock bands/artists from all periods, like The Moody Blues, Procol Harum and The Nice from the Sixties with often BBC Top Of The Tops footage (perhaps you know it from Sixties DVD compilations) and famous clips by Genesis (Spitting Images puppets), Peter Gabriel (innovativecomputer animations) and Pink Floyd (with the Gerald Scarfe cartoons) from The Seventies and Eighties.
It's up to you, I am very curious to your favorite progrock video clip!
By the way, my personal choice is Another Brick In The Wall by Pink Floyd with Fanfare For The Common Man by ELP as second best !

As video art goes, I've always found "Owner of a Lonely Heart" particularly good, though I could not watch it for too long due to the presence of some disgusting tarantula spiders . "Another Brick in the Wall" was also excellent, though I must admit the song is not among my favourite PF efforts.
As music goes, though, I would definitely go straight for DP's "Child in Time"... Do you really want to hear another spot of Blackmore praising? Edited by Ghost Rider - August 02 2006 at 11:16 |

Iguana is one of my favourite animals... But I don't like the rest of the "I can't Dance" clip. I really like Peter Gabriel clips (we're talking about the pictures, not about the music, aren't we?), so my vote will go for one of them... "Sledgehammer", I think. I always enjoy watching it. |

i used to love peter gabriel's videos even before i was into prog, but now they don't click on me like they used to; when it come to music videos i much more preffer modern day prog related videos [radiohead's street spirit, muse's stockholm syndrome, anathema's pressure, even genesis' rendition of carpet crawlers - or is it peter gabriel's?]
A+ for high hopes |

I should have added High Hopes, especially because of the Pulse DVD release, no coincidence it's charting so high!

Eric you're such a n00b, what kind of question is "Genesis-Land Of Confusion"?
Anyway, my favorite clip is Parabola by Tool, a real piece of art even if you don't like the music much http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j2XtBC51-Oc&search=parabola |

I'm a little dispappointed with the amount of decidedly non-prog videos
listed (even if all of the said artists were involved in making prog at
some time).
Ah well, music videos weren't nearly so common in the 70's -- really popularised in the early 80s.. Since 'non-prog art rock' fare of the 80's is listed, my favourite video is Bowie's Ashes to Ashes CLICK (actually, I've seen Bowie listed under prog too elsewhere, though I'd say prog-related at best). As for a band listed in these archives (under experimental/ post rock), I really like the Sigur Ros' Glósóli music video. In fact I find all of their music videos interesting... http://www.sigur-ros.co.uk/media/dldvideo.php In prog-related, I enjoy Kate Bush's music videos. Her "The Man with the Child in His Eyes" is a favourite. |

This poll is about music video clips so I don't understand why it has been moved to the Non Music Prog Lounge .. really strange?!
