Hello from another lurking newbie!

Hi everyone! I've been lurking around this site since early December (about 5 1/2 months now), and have just decided to join. Well, actually, I wanted to vote in a couple of polls—namely the "Best song from Deadwing" and the "Joe Satriani vs. Steve Vai" polls. 

So after about half a year of immersing myself fully into prog, here I am. Before I started this "immersion", I was only really familiar with a handful artists featured on this site. 

Let's see... I'm a 21 year-old San Francisco (CA, USA) native and about to graduate college. ...I figure that should say a lot about a person (namely HELP ME I'M FREAKED OUT ABOUT WHAT TO DO WITH MY LIFE). So there you go. As you can see, I'm mostly familiar with prog metal, but I've put some symphonic stuff in there too. If you have any suggestions for artists to try, that would be greatly appreciated. I hope to see you soon in the forums. Peace!
