The German band Galactic Explorers is labeled here under psychedelic/space prog.

I believe it does not fit their music best and they should be categorized under electronic prog.

This is an all synth band:

- Johannes Lutz / moog, organ
- Holst Seisert / synthesizers, electric piano, effects
- Reinhard Karwatky / synthesizers, percussion, organ

The sounds that they make, while having relations with the space and psychedelic genres are more related to electronic prog. Listening to their only release this sounds obvious, as the music bears much resemblance to that of Tangerine Dream. They should belong in the same category as TD.

What do you think?

Hmm, unfortunately I don't know the band, but you could ask Philippe's opinion, since he wrote the biography.

I would be surprised if Karwatky did not also play bass on that album (he played electric and acoustic bass on the albums of Dzyan, and excellently so). I have never heard it though.
"Holst" is probably a typo and is supposed to mean "Horst", a common German name.

^^^

I didn't mean to offend anyone with the typo, I simply copied it from their bio on the page here in PA.

I have PM'ed Philippe and I hope he would give us his opinion here.

Hi everyone,

Galactic Explorers is one of this German bands which take to the top the flame of "pre-ambiant" universe, I mean before that the term was commonly affected to Eno, Harold Budd...however this is not a simplistic synth "trip". It is a powerful blend of musical influences. Outside of synth soundscapes, their album features some reminiscences of Terry Riley and Between for the "hypnotic" repetitive "patterns" (track 1), free form jazz (track 2) and weird experimentations (track 3)... This is "Kosmsiche" music at its very best

THIS IS A SEMI- PROGRESSIVE ELECTRONIC BAND, THEIR ROOTS ARE DEFINITELY INTO KRAUTROCK, SPACEY STUFFS
