Hi all! Been in and out of the site and forum for a long time, but just recently created a user. Prog Archives has allways been my go-to for news, recomendations, and I have to say that the band indexes is really impressive. I know there is a lot of hard work behind it, so hats off to everyone involved in this 🔥💪
I got into Prog music in my formative years (early eighties) through my uncle who introduced me and my nephew to bands like Magnum, Supertramp, Pink Floyd, Camel, Nektar, Caravan, and many many more. He had his own "man cave" with 2 of 4 walls just filled with vinyl. The memories of him "allowing" us to sit with him and listen to whatever he would put on, has guided my taste in music to this day, now pushing 50. I listen to a lot of different styles nowadays, and currently I'm on a lot of newer stuff. Some of the releases done the last couple of years has really blown me away. The latest from Ring of Gyges is amazing, check out the track "Holy Water" for example. Others that impressed me was bands from all over the world... Prog is universal and without borders... Teramaze (Australia) Their concept album "Eli: A Wonderful Fall from Grace" is my definite album of the year 2024. Others of my frequent listens in the "newer bands category" are: Meer - Golden Circle (2024) from Norway The Cyberiam - Unobtanium (2024) from the US Believe - The Wyrding Way (2024) from Poland The Anaton Project - Luck EP (2024) from Norway PreHistoric Animals - Finding Love in Strange Places (2024) from Sweden Moon Safari - Himlabacken Vol. 2 (2023) from Sweden Off Grid - Reign of the Architect (2023) from Israel COMPASS - Silent Symphony (2023) Highly underrated prog from the UK The list goes on... can't list em all. Just gonna finish this post with this: Music for me... is like oxygen when I have trouble breathing. Thanks for letting me be a part of this wonderful Forum :) -JB- Edited by Mirador - Yesterday at 00:48 |
