I think the banner A looks way better! It's cool and sexy, while banner B looks like a work of a kindergarten student.

Cool to hear that! I believe both banners have elements which can be percieved differently by different people. That's the reason I created this poll.

As a nerd, I love both, but voted for B, because I'm a big nerd

Also B for me.
What's the history behind these banners? Who created them? and when?

I know the current banner was done by a guy named darkshadeof I believe. If you go to the homepage here and click on "About Us" at the top and scroll down you'll see some of his other collages. I actually bought the RUSH one from him but have never framed it, still have it though.

Banner A looks more professional but also a little bland to me. Banner B has some undeniable early-internet charm.

I never really paid much attention to these, but since looking at them closer, I think I like A better. Banner B seems too "busy" to me. Uncluttering it a little and making the website name bigger might improve it.

While I love many of the bands represented in banner B, I have to say I prefer banner A. "B" presents a preconceived notion of what constitutes Progressive Rock, whereas "A" is more open to user interpretation, which is more in line with the nature of the site.

I voted for B since it's more similar to my avatar on the Steve Hoffman forum. ;)

What's your handle/username over at Stevehoffman.tv? I sometimes lurk around there when I'm thirsty for some technical (or simpy much much geekier than PE and PA combined) discussion about prog remasters or production techniques in music of the past. :P

That's probably something that fell off a charm bracelet, Ken, not an actual house. |
