Ólafur Arnalds and the missing Chamber Prog sub-g

   Over the years many mentions have occurred lamenting the lack of a "Chamber Prog" sub-genre (or the like). The topic has come up over the music of iamthemorning founders Marjana Semkina and Gleb Kolyadin as well as soundtracks from Mark Isham, Trent Reznor, Clint Mansell, and Hans Zimmer--and recently with the final acceptance/admission into the PA database of former Rational Diet-icians, Olga Podgaiskaja and Vitalli Appow's successive project, FIVE STOREY ENSEMBLE, to the very recent mention of one of my favorite bands of the past 15 years, Taiwanese Post-Rock Chamber group CICADA (not the same spelling as Greek Prog Folk band, Ciccada).
This morning I stumbled across a very recent posting on YouTube of a Live from Hafursey (Iceland) performance of Ólafur Arnalds and the string quartet known as Cercle.

I've been a fan and follower of Ólafur's music since the great British who-dunnit series Broadchurch came out. If there is someone else who definitely deserves inclusion within a prog sub-genre, it's Ólafur! 

I strongly recommend you check out the above-cited video: "Ólafur Arnalds live from Hafursey, in Iceland for Cercle." I am quite certain that most of you--most prog lovers--will love it!

P.S. I'd love to hear about some of the other artists you think would make great additions to a "Chamber Prog" sub-genre.

	@ Drew, did you see this Interactive Poll that I had from earlier this year? You might find some suggestions there. Also, check out Negoba’s thread about chamber rock. I didn't put in the poll but mentioned are the string quartet pieces by JG Thirlwell, performed by the Mivos Quartet, and by Stephan Thelen of Sonar, performef by Kronos Quartet and Al Peri Quartet. 	I recently made a list on Rate Your Music for chamber prog artists. I've been making super detailed sub lists for my own exploration needs. Many are fine lumping everything into one category but i like this micro-niches. Chamber prog is quite distinct and probably deserves a place even on PA. 	^ i will. My list is for bands that are both chamber music AND prog rock so just pure chamber music artists aren't included. According to the tagging on RYM Cicada is a mix of chamber music, neoclassical new age and modern classical so doesn't appear to be any rock elements. Given the band's latest album has over 2700 ratings i assume that's fairly accurate. I personally wouldn't add bands without rock elements to PA but i know they do get included. Sounds like cool music for sure!
