To become member of this very special club, please tell which Eclectic Prog albums you're fond of. Another rule is that particularly Honourable Members will be appointed depending on appreciation of The Big Three of Eclectic Prog, and that means King Crimson, Van der Graaf Generator and Gentle Giant. I'm fond of: Budka Suflera (PL) - Cien Wielkiej Gory (1975) Catapilla (UK) - Catapilla (1971) Ciccada (GR) - A Child in the Mirror (2010) Djam Karet (US) - Reflections From The Firepool (1989) Gentle Giant (UK) - Acquiring the Taste (1971) Gordian Knot (US) - Gordian Knot (1998) Marek Grechuta & Anawa (PL) - Korowód (1971) Steve Hackett (UK) - Voyage of the Acolyte (1975) King Crimson (UK) - ITCOTCK, Larks’ Tongues, Red ('69,70's) Manfred Mann's Earth Band (UK) - Solar Fire (1974) Nemo (F) - Prelude a la Ruine (2004) Czeslaw Niemen (PL) - Enigmatic, Niemen Aerolit, Katharsis (´'69,70's) SBB (PL) - 2: Nowy Horyzont, Welcome (70's) Sheshet (Israel) - Sheshet (1977) Skaldowie (PL) - Krywań Krywań (1972) Taal (F) - Skymind (2002) Terreno Baldio (BRA) - Terreno Baldio (1976) Van der Graaf Generator (UK) - H to He, Godbluff, Still Life (70's) not on PA, but a fine album and maybe closest to Eclectic Prog - even much influenced by Metal (like Skymind though): Aesma Daeva (USA) - The Eros of Frigid Beauty (2001) I hope you'll enjoy yourself and may Eclectic Prog be with you! Thanks! It was easier than I thought to assemble an A-Z of Eclectic Prog, when the only obvious entry was for the letter "K"

I'd say, it's quite obvious for the letter "V" as well, even not everybody of course are fond of at least one VdGG album.

" Eclectic Prog definition The term 'eclectic' in the context of progressive rock describes a summation of elements from various musical sources, and the influences and career paths of bands that take from a wide range of genres or styles. While progressive music can be, in a larger sense, eclectic, the 'Eclectic Prog' term is specially meant to reference bands that trespass the boundaries of established Progressive Rock genres or that blend many influences.Eclectic Prog combines hybrids of style and diversity of theme, promoting many elements from different sources. The Eclectic category recognizes bands that evolved markedly over their career (in a progressive, evolutionary way), or have a plural style without a clear referential core. The basic features lie within the music's variety, rich influences, art tendencies and classic prog rock elements. Among the representative bands are KING CRIMSON, VAN DER GRAAF GENERATOR, and GENTLE GIANT. - written by Ricochet (Victor)" |

X-actly, and besides which, XTC are too X-treme for my conservative tastes. I suppose Xhol Caravan might be considered Eclectic Prog, as all of their albums are very different. For X-ample, Electrictrip (1969) sounds nothing like their 1972 album, the title of which I dare not even mention.

In that case, I'll add Xhol Caravan to my above list of Eclectic Prog favourites, even though Cristi would probably object to their inclusion if he was here.
