What we'll do here is post songs about seasons, or songs that have names of seasons in their title, a spring coming back to life, a summer love, a summer storm, a winter storm, a winter's cold and autumn's sadness and so on... In about a week or so, we will decide on a final nomination song out of the once we posted. Once the final nominations are in the poll, we will choose three favorites. Have fun! I can't resist mentioning two of my favourite Winter Songs
Comus - Winter is a Coloured Bird Vashti Bunyan - Winter is Blue And this came to mind: Nico - Winter Song Then Art Bears Winter/War also came to mind. EDIT: Unless people complain about too many knowing it, I will nominate Comus - Winter is a Coloured Bird. It is a bonus track on some releases and probably is my favourite Comus song. But then as I was cooking breakfast for my son, Lenny White's "The Venusian Summer Suite" came to mind (it's an instrumental rather than a song). Edited by Logan - April 19 2022 at 09:04 |

I took part in a couple of these polls in the past. I hope it's ok to join in again?
If it is, here's some Finnish rock for your annoyance. Three songs by different artists, all with the same title "Kevät" which is Finnish for spring. Tavaramarkkinat were active in the first half of the 80s. "Kevät" came out in 1986 and was their last single and biggest hit. Kauko Röyhkä is a singer-songwriter and novelist who released his first album and first book in 1980 and has been active until today. This song is from 1991 and very much in 90s indie rock vein. Sielun Veljet were an 80s post-punk band and one of my favourite bands. Their Kevät was released only as a single in 1986. This is a playback live video from some tv program. ^ I have heard, and own, (so far) only two Kauko Röyhkä albums, but I love them and will definitely be exploring more of his work. As the albums I have are from 2014 and 2016, this Spring song is new to me. I look forward to listening to it, and the other two Finnish gems you’ve unearthed for us. 🇫🇮

What about PA listed tracks? Do they qualify? Oh, and maybe add some description how an interactive poll works to your opening post. Maybe we have new participants?

First thing that comes to mind is Stravisky's iconic Sacre du Printemps (Rite of Spring). This may be well known, but anyway... when I heard this for the first time, it opened a whole new world of music for me, and still it's ridiculously moving. Also I'm a fan of Pina Bausch's ballet, and here they do the opening of the Sacre. |

Cristi listed a PFM track, so I would expect that PA listed ones qualify (nor did Cristi question my choice when I said I plan to nominate a Comus song). Specifying the details does help instead of people inferring. I would think that unless PA included act's tracks are disqualified in the rules, then they are fine. If you want to adapt this for the rules (but of course you could use your own, Cristi, from past ones): 1. Mention one or several songs/ tracks on the Seasons theme (they can be in or out of Prog Archives/ Prog and/or not Prog). Each mention should come with an embedded youtube video (or link if you are unable to do this) or say bandcamp choice with link if youtube does not have it. 2. By [insert date here] nominate one track as your choice for this theme. 3. On [insert date here] I plan to list all of the nominated music in the poll. 4. When music nominations are up in the poll, then one can vote. It is an expectation that all of the nominated choices will be or have been listened to before voting. 5. After listening to all of the choices, vote for three poll options not your own and mention those in a post. Just to reiterate: By nominating a track, it is expected that one will listen to other people's nominations, vote for three of those not your own, and list those three in a post. Thanks for participating. Edited by Logan - April 19 2022 at 19:05 |

Yes, prog songs qualify, just not very famous songs. I'll edit my original post.

Sorry, it was rude of me to interject in the conversation by trying to answer a question asked of another.
By the way, I had questioned whether I should participate, but I am going to be very busy for some time and so will not nominate anything this round. Edited by Logan - April 20 2022 at 07:57 |

^ Okay, Cristi, can do. I might be very tardy and will try not to forget to return to the poll (no guarantees as I have a brain with some of the qualities of swiss cheese these days). I will stick with the Comus track then if that is fine -- not too famous methinks, especially as it is a bonus track even if it is fairly well known at this forum. Thanks.
