   Summit is the instrumental atmospheric sludge metal project of Italian multi-instrumentalist Gabriele Gramaglia, established in 2015. The Milan-based musician described Summit as an expression of his melancholic side and an "observation on human nature." Gramaglia released an EP and a full-length of his impressionistic, introverted and cinematic post-metal, jumping from Drown Within Records to I, Voidhanger for the release of the LP The Winds That Forestall Thy Return. Adding influences from black and death metal, the record featured the vocals of Nicholas McMaster (of Krallice, Bloody Panda and Geryon) on the song "Pale Moonlight Shadow." 
The label compares Summit to Neurosis, Pelican and Jesu as well as late Gorguts and 777-era Blut aus Nord, and references to Russian Circles, Tempel and Intronaut are also appropriate.
