Do you know any song which would last more than 10 minutes and have some defined parts?
An example would be Flight by Peter Hammill, some say that it isn't fully prog but it has movements and last actually almost 19 minutes. |

A lot of long songs in doom metal for example, relying on atmosphere. Very enjoyable IMO, but not progressive.

There's a lot of classic rock and jam band songs(Allman Brothers and Grateful Dead for example)that are over ten minutes long. My time of dying by Led Zeppelin is ten minutes long. I doubt many people would say that's prog.
 Probably the most famous example I can think of though is "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" by Iron Butterfly. It's 20 minutes long but usually considered psych and not prog(not even really proto prog imo).Edited by AFlowerKingCrimson - June 30 2020 at 07:13 |

immigration has shaped London's multiculture in an entirely positive
way. It's also split into disparate sections where the musical style
changes. Brilliant yes, but Prog? Nah
the Damned Curtain Call from 1980s the Black Album
is > 17 mins long and also consists of contrasting sections that
range from Gothic crooner ballad, faux classical bravura to aggressive
Punky irreverence. The singer drove a hearse and used to work as a grave digger. Tells you all you need to know

Not quite 10 minutes, but Green Day's Jesus Of Suburbia has a very low chance of being called prog on this website despite being part of a concept album and having multiple distinct movements.
