I did a research report in school about The History Of Electronic Music. Doing research I came across a book called Musical Instruments Of The World by The Diagram Company. On their keyboard pages, they had a diagram of a tube shaped keyboard know as a tubon. Ever heard of it? Ever been used in prog? I think it was the forerunner of the synths that can be held like guitars like the Moog Liberation. I'd like to know where to get more info on it and where to hear sound samples of it.

Avram:

Hi.  Welcome to the site.

The tubon was specially designed and developed by Kurzweil for Kraftwerk, who are, I believe, the only group that ever used one.  It makes a sound somewhere between a sax and a kazoo.  And there is actually one available on Ebay!

That's as much as I was able to find.

Hope it helps.

Peace.
