I'm surprised this subforum doesn't have a thread about this yet.
http://arw-tour.com/ Anyone planning on going to this? I already have my tickets! |

I'd love a show in the Detroit area.

Well, from what I understand, a tour of the rest of the world will follow in 2017. Maybe that means they will also head back to the US and hit some cities they missed the first time around.
I am honestly very optimistic about this tour. I'm not a big fan of the Trevor Rabin era Yes albums, but the scheduling for this tour seems perfect, considering Jon's health issues in the which resulted in him being unable to continue with Yes a number of years ago. If you look at the dates, there aren't a ton of shows which are on consecutive days, and it's usually only for two shows back to back. More often than not, there is a day or more in between shows, which should give Jon the opportunity to rest and stay in top shape for us. It just feels like a much more respectful and intelligent way of doing things, especially in comparison to what "Yes" are doing these days, which is a pretty brutal schedule. All that said, I've never seen Jon Anderson and Rick Wakeman before, so this will be a treat for me regardless. I'm sure they'll play some new stuff and some Trevor Rabin era Yes stuff, but we all know they'll pull out some old classics as well. It should be a great tour. |

The "Best Possible Yes Line Up These Days" did veer into AWR territory recently (my contribution below):
We've got tickets to see the AWR concert in Ohio, but even as I clicked "purchase" I was still in disbelief that I was actually handing over good money to see Rabin play. And then I remembered that my husband was paying for the tickets, so I'm okay with it. |

I hope they decide to come to the Pacific Northwest on some leg of the tour or another.

Who will be playing bass and drums? Even though I find it cool that they do this, I'm honestly more excited about Trevor Rabin's upcoming solo album than about this collaboration. |

Yes west hasn't held up for me at all and I'm not a fan of how rabin plays Howe parts
But I might want to see this---just to see JA and Rick do Yes----nothing like it really for me the really sad thing is not to see Howe JA Rick and White play together again---I know it will never happen but I can't accept it

Yeah, I keep thinking they're going to figure it out and JUST GET BACK TOGETHER ALREADY but I know it will never happen. Whatever grudges anyone is holding, it's time to get over them.

It does seem like an odd combination - but that may make it more interesting. Bring in a younger rhythm section without past Yes associations... |

Website (http://www.arw-tour.com/) is tossing up a 403 "Forbidden" error for me. Anyone else able to see it?

Oooohhh... If they were playing in France, I could accept to drop a lot of Euros to see them: it's a more consistent setlist than what the "official" Yes line-up plays! |

For me it could be more interesting to listen to new music composed by ARW than to see them and to listen to them playing old songs from YES. In Facebook someone shared two videos from their first show playing "I´ve Seen All Good People" and "Awaken". The first song is well played, with Rabin's guitar playing style sounding good. But in "Awaken" I missed Steve Howe´s guitar parts. "Awaken" is played with some new arrangements. It sounds good, but I still prefer the original version. So, I think that it could be better to wait for a new album from ARW with their new songs. I think that their more "real" musical contributions could be better appreciated by that.

For those who have seen the show, what time did the music start in comparison to the time on the ticket? I have to work tomorrow and then drive about 90 minutes to the concert. I'm trying to avoid having to leave work early.
Thanks. |
