I've heard a handful of songs from most of these that I liked, but never a full album. Some of you like some of these more than me, so which is yer fave?

IQ, Riverside, Marillion, Renaissance and Focus are all amongst my favourite bands.
And I like all the others, except Dream Theater, whom I can tolerate.
If I had to pick one, it would be IQ.

I'm surprised at some of the bands on nthe lisdt, but Harmonium is the most shocking IMHO, with Focus a solid second
Those would be my choices, with Angla and Renaissance tied for third spot

Went on a Renaissance kick recently actually. Always underrated them, but they are probably one of the most emotionally lucid 70s symph bands.

At first I was struggling between either IQ or Anglagard but then I saw Harmonium and cast my vote right away.

A near draw between Renaissance and PT, Renaissance it is by a whisker.
As a collective the list as a whole is okayish but not quite as good as the "bands you probably don't like".

Opeth would be the most likely band I'd play.
