I remember the only things they played on Nick was Rugrats, Ren & Stimpy, and LASSIE!

yes, but fun or whacked out strange not Invader Zim style strange. Also that show was straight up bleak...
Granted, when I got bit older I realized Spongebob was a little more...wtf under the surface than it seemed. Like, done in a silly way but lots of nudity and body mutilation and even cartoony looking insides. Also it had those random one second zoom ins where the face was very realistic and detailed...kind of like Ren & Stimpy
Which made more sense when I found out a lot of people from Ren & Stimpy went into SpongebobShocked

Now that was an inappropriate showApprove along with Rocko's Modern Life.
Classic.

So I listened to a groove-jazz album and a symphonic prog album today, what's next?

I really enjoyed the abstractness of Rocko's Modern Life.

Yeah loved it, and probably for the best I didn't get the many adult references.
Then again what kid show is it without that?

Jean Michel Jarre

I just need a genre. Besides, I don't have any Jean Michel Jarre.

I remember seeing random replays of that. I remember not finding it so bad as a kid, most likely because I was used to Ren & Stimpy and Rocks Modern LifeLOL

That's one of the reasons why the first two or so Spongebob seasons were awesome.

I get a chuckle that Alanis Morissette got her career started on that show getting slimed.
