I'm fundamentally unimpressed by Deep Purple, but Highway Star is something I actually like, next to Child In Time.

I don't think they belong in HP, they belong in "noise"

Oh? What heavy prog could you recommend to me, Harry? Keep in mind that I don't much care for Rush, and hate hard rock quite a bit.

I still don't get the "noise" bit of the band. It's all pretty musical stuff.
I think the people that think it's noise, in fact received the wrong CD entirely with their copy of TMV albums they purchased.

Minus The Mars Volta.

The Mars Volta, avoid them like the plague.
That is all.

I always wonder why some in the general forum outside this thread, I go into threads and bash bands that are clearly listed in my top artists in my signature and then take me seriously.
I remember one time bashing the Mars Volta, and had someone attack me for it and then pointed out I listen to the band a sh*t load and then he got all embarrassed.
It was a good day, a good day.

I am confused. Are you making fun of another site member like with Walter? I sense mixed messages.

At any rate, I am listening to De-loused, and quite like it, actually.

Was it KoS that said only a few weeks ago he thought Bedlam was just a noisy album? I think it was.

I see. I don't take the "noise" tag seriously. All noise is music, even noise. Even lack of noise is music. Especially silence.

Actually, someone labeling a metal or prog album as noise would more than likely make me want to listen to it.

Nothing much. I'm at work and just checked that you like Iron Maiden, which means that summer will be exponentially better! Wink

Given I can listen to Merzbow for hours on end, no amount of noise in music is inaccessible to me.
