^ By a strange coincidence, Dr. Siegel's Flied Egg Shooting Machine is the only Japanese psych album I have on CD.

Kitaro is still active! In 2020, he recorded music for a tribute to Dennis Banks called American Indian "Storyteller". Kitaro is in the midst of a few concerts in Japan (Sept-Nov of this year): Kitaro | Domo Music Group Also, it looks like we may finally get new music by Kenso in 2024! Guitarist-founder Yoshi Shimizu will appear at the next Progressive Jam at the Silver Elephant club on January 1. THE BATTLE OF EVERMORE by Y.Shimizu (exblog.jp)

^ "Years Active" just means the years between the release of the first and latest studio albums. Even if an artist hasn't been active since the 1970's, it doesn't rule out them releasing a new album in the 21st Century, just like the Flower Travellin' Band for instance.

I was just trying to keep it simple. It's about to get more complicated though when I start cataloguing and listening to PA's entire discography of Japanese Symphonic Prog albums.

So much great stuff in there!* I remember when I first got stung by the Japanese prog bee decades ago...it really hurts in the wallet. *Granted, there are some misses, but many more hits!

^ And with that in mind, here's a brief Fromage frais of the marvellous Cinematic delights to look forward to in early 2024 when I'll be paying homage to Japanese Prog by exploring the rich Pageant of Symphonic Prog from the Outer Limits of the Far East, which holds more untold riches than Renaissance's Midas Man, so you may experience a sense of strange Deja-Vu when you get stung by the Japanese prog bee again.

Social Tension's first album MacBethia is a fairly amazing synth record. Deja-Vu's Baroque of the Future introduced the world to "the Japanese Wakeman," Motoi Sakuraba!

^ I counted 24 artists and 64 albums in total in the above list, so even if I only listen to one Japanese Symphonic Prog album a day, it'll only take me just over two months to listen to them all, which is roughly as long as it takes to grow a bonsai tree. Sayonara.

I have to admit, I've only heard very little of Japanese music compared to how many Japanes movies I've seen.

quality over quantity, and all kind of PopcoRn almost beyond
