well, id have to say Playing the Fool (just for the Excerpts from Octopus) by Gentle Giant, though i am a Huge VDGG fan (favs: Godbluff, and Least we can do...), but
Third Reich 'n' Roll by The Residents, and Trout Mask Replica by the Beef is great...
Heck i love Hot Rats too!
I am but a servant of the mighty Fripp, the sound of whose loins shall forever be upon the tongues of his followers.

Gentle Giant, Octopus. The playing and vocal harmonies were mind blowing.

My #1 favourite prog album (today) is Red by King Crimson

Sigur Ros- ()
with out a doubt.
I can strangle a canary in a tin can and it would be really original, but that wouldn't save it from sounding like utter sh*t.

If an album is five stars, it cannot be beaten, only equaled. Thus, all of the following are the best:

Dark Side of the Moon
Wish You Were Here
Nursery Cryme
Foxtrot
Pawn Hearts
THICK AS A BRICK - my personal favorite
