No typo I guess, but I have zero recollection of posting that What!???!!! was my first thought when I read it back just now.....and then suddenly remembered the blank space from Fridays, which I don't remember at all. Too much of the ol lager and snaps, and waaaaay to little to eat beforehand. I should've learned that by now. Never go out drinking on an empty stomach - especially if it entails hard liquor like snaps Woke up with the sound system on and this album in the cd player I instinctively pushed play and was nearly blasted out of the room! My neighbours must truly hate me at the moment At least I'm moving away from Cappy Beefy, who usually is the one I reach for after a night out on the town. |

"Halo of Flies" by Alice Cooper, definitely!
"This Kid's" by UFO, for the amazing 8-voice choir Mellotron played by Leo Lyons. "Wherever I May Roam" by Metallica is another favorite of mine, great imagery & cool instrumentals. |

Didn't Britney Spears cover Yes' I've Seen All Good People? She is who she is, but if she sang it, I'd love to hear what her handlers did to (for) it. Anyone else ever hear it. Was it any good?

There must be tons of Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple songs, but a song that basically smashes punk and prog together is Fear's Camarillo. The time signatures and arpeggios are pretty adventurous, especially as punk goes:

This is a band from Ireland, stunning heartfelt song. The piano tunes and vocals especially, very real and heartfelt. If you can please give this a listen. I love this song, since 2011 I have replayed this over and over again, just played this again and got that same special feeling I got first time. A song that to date I cannot get enough of doesn't matter how many times I listen. http://indigoprime.bandcamp.com/track/forget-about-me
LYRICS:
Forget About Me I just can’t forget about you, the way you forgot about me. How hard can this be? I’m going out of my head, This mess that you made, it don’t clean so easy. Ch - Some days I can’t make it of my bed Some days, I spend hours on the things that you said. Over and over and over again Something inside I just can’t defend They say time heals everything, well, that’s just a lie To help you get by And I’m walking round in a daze but these lights never change And the world has stopped turning Ch – And some days I wonder just what I have done I live every day, every day of my life, in a house not a home Over and over and over again Something inside I just can’t defend They say time heals everything, well, that’s just a lie To help you get by I’m drinking whiskey all the time, it’s killing the pain But then you’re sober again Ch – And some days I wish I had never been born I wish I could rip out this heart and the pain would be gone Over and over and over again Something inside I just can’t defend But you forget about me, Forget about me ............. xxxxxxxxxxxxxx |

Four excellent choices! Since all of these are circa 1968-1976 (during the hey-day of the "classic" progressive rock arrival), it makes sense that these songs from non-prog bands brand a "progressive" sound to them... |

This one is on one of my mixes and came up yesterday at the gym. awesome work.
of course, he also had this one from the same album. The albvum doesn't have much beyond the first song and those two tracks though Edited by kenethlevine - December 17 2014 at 08:22 |
