2013 NFL Season

So Marshawn Lynch's running, Doug Baldwin's efforts and the pass to kearsey on 4th and seven for a touchdown were what? weak? you are a Saints fan and going in to the game you picked the 9ers and you picked wrong.

True, but it's a once in a lifetime chance to have your 2 favourite teams actually meet in the SB 

It's a crazy feeling.  Most years I either have my fave team in the SB or a team I love to root against...but this year...wow.  I'm a Bronco fan first and will be wearing my Elway jersey and I'll be really disappointed if they lose but that will mean my 2nd fave team will be SB champs.  Happy Happy, Joy Joy 

It's funny, I was never much of a Peyton fan till I closely watched him play for the Broncos these past 2 seasons.  His constant audibles and shifting the players around is awesome (when it works).  To be able to play at such a high level and set all those records after the horrific neck surgeries and a whole season away from the game is nothing short of incredible.  I'd love to see him get another ring - if nothing else than to silence the Peyton haters who say he can't win the big one.  Realistically, the Broncos have maybe 2 more years as an elite SB caliber team - assuming Peyton keeps playing healthy...after that we'll probably take a hard slide to an average 8-8 team.

Ya, I'm not sure Wilson is the type of QB that will put up Brees/Peyton/Brady kind of numbers...it might be that his greatest gifts as a QB are his leadership qualities, preparation, and ability to elevate all the players around him.  One thing that really impresses me about him is that he scrambles to buy time to find an open receiver, not to take off downfield.  That's a tough thing to teach a 2nd year QB...most of them can't check down receivers...if the primary target is covered they take off running.  Some of his scrambles remind me exactly of Fran Tarkenton or even Elway in his early years before he slowed down.  When you can get receivers in tune with a QB that scrambles to buy time, good things will happen.

I hear you about Drew and the Saints D as well...look at Elway's career...he carried the Broncos to the SB 3 unsuccessful times and it wasn't until he got some big names on D (Neil Smith, Romanowski, Atwater) that he was able to get over the top.  A great QB just cannot do it alone (though that's what the sports media makes it sound like).

And yes, Peyton, Drew, and Brady are all running out of time...soon the young guns will be taking their place and I think Wilson is poised to become one of the premier new breed of QB's.  Run 1st QB's are exciting but I just don't see the longevity in their careers because they take too many big hits.  When I saw all the Tebow games in that magic 2011 season I kept thinking, "ya this is super exciting...but there's no way this guy will play more than 3 years without serious injury".  Look at Peyton, I don't believe he even got knocked down once yesterday.  A solid O line can make a good QB look great...and a great QB look unbeatable.
