You can have your guarantee back. Oh wait, yes, they're more enjoyable than Periphery.
If they cut out the angry parts and just had the intro and the sax and piano parts, I'd like it more. His clean voice is still a bit irritating.
Can they not just play slower music without the shouting and growls or at least go heavy but not have the shouting? Or can they just borrow Akerfeldt? I don't like the -core vocals really.
I might put it into Audacity and remove the heavy bits.

Actually his vocals are a lot closer to death metal than -core, but whatever.
And I agree that the softer stuff is their best stuff, but I like the metal a ton too. In my opinion, the heavy contrast makes it infinitely more interesting.

Nope, same guy. Chris Barretto, he actually was one of Periphery's former vocalists. He's also their sax player. He can do a couple of different styles, both the cleans, the growls, and the backing shouts. He just layers them in the studio.
Akerfeldt does have some of the best growls in music. So deep and throaty. Oh man I wish I could growl like that.
Here's another really good track of theirs:
I'd recommend listening to the whole song, but if you absolutely cannot stand it, fast forward to about 15 seconds before the six minute mark. The ending is unbelievable, but the effect isn't quite as good when you haven't sat through the metal maelstrom before it.

Apparently t-storms are supposed to roll through here smack dab in the middle of the Tigers' game tonight, so I am just curious as to where they are now.
And Rob's lunch post from earlier has provided me with an ad for "Weekend Nachos Worthless", some " furious, grimy, f**k-you Hardcore with a capital H".

Yeah, I had heard there were supposed to be some big storms on the horizon, but looking on the radar there's only some very small smatterings of storm patterns. Doesn't look like anything big on this end.
