"Good for them and all, but did anyone ask for a Flash reunion?"

Yes.

P.S.  These aren't the guys Yes kicked out.  Tony Kaye and Peter Banks aren't in the band.

P.P.S.  More or less talented?  It's all about the music.  Either you like it, or you don't...

So by this sick logic you'd keep people who play real progressive music from performing because they're not at the core of a band? Hilarious, like the time you suggested andy wk for RIO.

I think The Syn reunion was great! Both the Syndestructible studio album and the live DVD they made in its wake are very good! In general, I think it is amazing that the current interest in progressive Rock has made it possible for classic bands (not only the most famous ones) to reunite and continue were they once left off (often forced by varying trends, etc.). It proves that Prog is here to stay!

@SouthSideoftheSky - Interesting thread.  Thanks.

Maybe Flash should be added to the list.  They broke up in '73!  Playing together again for the first time as we speak.  New Cd in the works.  Their albums have been reissued a number of times - the most recent, their debut, "Flash" in Nov. 2009 for the FOURTH time!  Very nice...

Have to say that Esoteric did a great job at remastering the album, even if their customer service and shipping leave much to be desired when ordering from their site.

A new album in the works? Thumbs Up  Can't remember, I know Banks isn't there, but is Hough back in the fold, or just Bennett and Carter?  Either way, looking forward to some new Flash material after 37 years.
I can understand your anger at me, but what did the horse I rode in on ever do to you?

@The Doctor - Mike Hough was initially interested when talks began, but in the end declined.  Mark Pardy is the new drummer.  Mark also played on Ray Bennett's 2001 solo CDs "Whatever Falls" and "Angels & Ghosts".  Pardy played on all the tracks on Ray's myspace page with the exception of "Don't Miss a Beat", and "Indian Food".  He's hot....

I ordered a copy of the Flash debut reissue from Amazon about 3 minutes ago, I'll let you know what I think after it arrived

In my defence I do have to say thats out of my personal control as I dont have stock here. We dont do our own mail order. The only mail order i do myself is for members of my CD club and I respond very promptly to members.

@ esotericarts - Who IS responsible for customer service and shipping?  Who do we contact if there's a problem?

Joel says he bought the "Flash" CD on Ebay.  Still don't know how anyone is doing with Esoteric orders of Flash CDs.  Esoteric hasn't answered any of my queries...

Greetings!

Ray and Colin are still hard at work mixing the new Flash CD (between stints in the pool - it's HOT here in Vegas!).  Ray is learning some new computer tricks, and it all takes time.  But he says it's progressing nicely and he's very pleased - says it gonna be "brilliant"!  "Flash 4" is on it's way....

I'm working on getting some new photos, and trying to get the boys to sit down with me long enough for an in-depth interview.  After hearing the "Peter Banks Story" - Pete's version of Flash events -  it'll be interesting to hear from Ray and Colin. They've been a bit circumspect talking publicly about the break-up and Pete, but I'll see if I can get them to resolve some conflicting accounts!  If you have questions for Ray and Colin, submit them to me and I'll try to include them.

Cheers,
Sherry

Flash has been asked to headline at the ProgDay Festival, Sept. 4th in Chapel Hill, NC.

Details are still being worked out, but it looks like they'll be there!
