I meant "riposte", I don't speak French, so the spelling was a bit wrong, sorry!

ri·poste (rĭ-pōst') pronunciation
n.
  1. Sports. A quick thrust given after parrying an opponent's lunge in fencing.
  2. A retaliatory action, maneuver, or retort.
intr.v., -post·ed, -post·ing, -postes.
  1. To make a return thrust.
  2. To retort quickly.

[French, alteration of obsolete risposte, from Italian risposta, answer, from feminine past participle of rispondere, to answer, from Latin respondēre. See respond.]

Not so Ansen... Peter tried, but it didn't impress me.  Sorry.  I still prefer Tlossy's post.

Oh, to wit, to woo!

Or should that be, twit t'woo?

A wise philosophy scholar (perhaps of ill repute), once said: One who thinks about what others want, invariably wants it for his or herself.

Thus, it is you Mr. Ride-off that craves 'Tlossy's big "post."', not I! Wink

Admirable sense of humour, Greekoil -- much better than your sense of spelling. What, pray tell, is a "philisophy" scholar?Confused

(And your "scholar" may have been "wise," but his grasp of pronoun agreement was rather lacking: he used "one" (singular) and "themselves" (plural) to refer to the same individual. Try "invariably wants it for his or her self." Geek

Gremlins in the computer again, Peter.

Well, yes, you are quite correct with the latter statement.  That's what quick thinking and lack of foresight does (for me).

My spelling is impeccable, I'll have you know.  Of course I know it should have been "philosophy", but the "I" key is next to the "O" key.  The philosopher in question may have also been of ill repute, because he/she couldn't spell his/her own title; thus making him/her a rather inept philosophy scholar.

You're rather cocksure today, Peter!

Edit: Oh and are your brackets going to close any day soon?  They've been left in the wind and rain and they want to come in, relax in front of the fire and shut the door behind them, like all good brackets like to do.  They obviously seek parentheses guidance!

Uh oh: tell-tale demonic laugh, Beastly, apocalyptic post count number, a name that contains "M - ICKY" - as in "I'm Icky" (or possibly "I'M Crimson King Yahahaha"), a title ("Senior Member") that unscrambles to form "O Remember Sin" and an avatar that conveniently gets cut off near the top of the head right where the horns would be....

Ah, a true Peter Rideout moment indeed.  He has slacked off a bit, of late though.
