To save you the time in starting a Danish prog thread, here's one Nick made earlier, in true Blue Peter fashion. http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=129598

Very nice with this interest of yours, Cindy, so here's a list of my entire but very small Danish music collection - all albums more or less Danish classics. Ache (DK) - De Homine Urbano (1970, quite interesting Prog-historically and an example of rare Danish Symphonic) Bazaar (DK) - Bazaar Live (1978, Prog Folk with East European, Turkish and Middle East influences) Burnin’ Red Ivanhoe (DK) - W.W.W. (1971, one of the most internationally appreciated Danish Prog bands) Secret Oyster (DK) - Sea Sun (1974, my absolutely fave Danish band since high school) Sievert & Tolonen (DK) - After Three Days (1978, Jazz Fusion with Latin and other influences) Non-Prog or not quite Before (DK) - A Wish of Life (1982, amazing lo-fi Post-Punk, strongly influenced by The Doors) Bifrost (DK) - Bifrost (1976, very melodic Folk-Rock, Danish vocals) Gnags (DK) - X (1983, reggish New Wave, Danish vocals) Kliche (DK) - Okay Okay Boys (1982, New Wave/Art Pop with distinct, Danish vocals) Kræn Bysted (DK) - Stavnsbundet (1980, very political Folk-Rock, Danish vocals) Mercyful Fate (DK) - Melissa (1983, Heavy Metal, probably the most internationally appreciated and innovative Danish album, Satanic English vocals) Savage Rose (DK) - Dødens Triumf (1972, ballet soundtrack, very special female vocalist, one of Paul's loves) Sh*t & Chanel (DK) - Shit & Chanel (1975, all-female very nice, soft, non-complex Jazz-Rock with Danish vocals) Sort Sol (DK) - Glamourpuss (1993, quite straight Alternative Rock) I hope, you can find something you like there. Well, when you're in Denmark, do as the Danes do, and seeing as you're from Denmark, Danish Prog was conspicuous by its absence from your list of prog nations.

If the thought of reviving Nick's tribute to Danish prog puts your head in a spin, then maybe I should start my own Danish prog thread. |

I only know Secret Oyster. I'll check out the rest of the bands. That said, I've only OF secret oyster...I've never listened to them. They're first on my list.

It'll be interesting to see how you find Sea Sun, even you might prefer Straight to the Krankenhaus or maybe even their first which is quite different from the other two. |

The thread about artwork suprised me concerning how different artwork tastes can be, but after second thought, why should it be different from music tastes.

But I can be quite suprised by the so far surely limited interest for the Czeslaw Niemen thread.

A couple more single artists and discussion threads have been the last ones, and by the present time, I've started about 80 threads altogether - not so few I'd say. Edited by David_D - August 25 2023 at 07:32 |

As a general rule for the threads in Progressive Music Lounges, I'd like people to keep the PA rule which says: "Prog Music lounge This section is for general discussions about Progressive music. Unless and until an artist is included in Prog Archives, they are not considered to be "prog". In other words, discussions in "Prog Music Lounge" should only be about groups/music currently included in Prog Archives, or about progressive music in general. "
